Highway robbery

What? the first car powered by gas, electricity and other cars.. What is meant with other cars? Well, Volvo designed a new car, the Volvo XC 90 T8. And there is also a special highway designed in California where this car can be charge with the help of other cars. Nowadays as we may know power can come from unexpected places, like the sun or the wind, but this one is a really unexpected one. The highway is developed to capture energy from cars on the road using only hydraulic power. Cars’ wasted energy is now turned into electric power. How cool is that!? The main component in this is the mat, which contains tubes that run the length of traffic. The tubes are full of water and when the car drives over the top of the mat, it compresses the tubes and this makes the water moving through the tubes and into the road side system that takes the hydraulic power and turns that energy into electrical energy. So without even knowing it every car on this California highway charges the Volvo XC 90 T8. The funny thing is that there is a billboard on the side of the road that says, for example, thanks blue Renault, or thanks for the extra miles Jeep or you have just been robbed. Wonder what motorists made of that one.

Why? why is this cool and how do I see sustainable cities coming back in this idea? This is the first thing I mentioned getting energy this way. It gives a new insight in finding more sustainable ways to get energy for charging cars. Because our daily usage of energy is too much for what we can get out of our natural sources. Oil and gas for example are only available until 54 to 61 years from now.
So by winning energy in a new way that doesn`t need any oil or gas this problem can be solved. It is yet another way we are able to showcase our thinking not just about our cars, but how they affect the world around us. The trend sustainable cities really fits this idea. This trend is about making a city more liveable in the future and in a green way. If you look around in a city you always see cars, everywhere. So by making a car more greener a big part of the city is helped to be more sustainable.
