DON`T THROW AWAY YOUR FOOD !
What? That`s the new thinking in Denmark. in Denmark they just opened a new supermarket. In this particular supermarket they sell second hand food. Well, not really because it is not used. But someone who bought food and is not going to use it anymore can bring it to WeFood, the supermarket. The supermarket will sell it for a much lower price than it actually costed. So if you live in Denmark and bought to much food and you are planning to trow it away, DON`T! Bring it to that supermarket and make someone happy who doesn`t have enough money to spend on food.
Why? To me this is a really cool idea. This is a perfect example of collaboration. People work together to make the world a little better. Through this food waste will be reduced a little. This makes it really sustainable. Also the poor people will be helped so much with this. They can buy good food for a much lower price than usually. I really hope this supermarket will come in the Netherlands too. Food waste is a really big problem. Because in the Netherlands 14% of the groceries will be thrown away! We actually throw away for 2,5 millien euro`s a year, that will be 150 euro`s per person a year!!This is such a money waste too, and there are so many people who can use these products so bad. And this fact is also really bad for the environment, because food waste is also hard to process. This also shows that people want to share their stuffs. They don’t throw it away but award it to the people who don’t have enough money for food.
