Bigger than accepted

What? www.swimsuitsforall.com is a website where they just use plus-size models. I guess every person is perfect but if you see the standard in the fashion world actually nobody is. It is unreal to fit the standard, you have to be a size 25, be super tall and also have blond hair and blue eyes. (http://a.abcnews.go.com/images/Lifestyle/ht_victorias_secret_kb_141029_12x5_1600.jpg) gSo this brand, Swimsuitsforall makes bikini`s for the `bigger public`. When you are on the website Swimsuitsforall there is a commercial from another website for normal clothing worn by plus-size models. So there is not only a swimsuit band but also a normal clothing website. The website is called fullbeauty.com, it is world’s largest plus-size online marketplace.

Why? To me this is so cool because this brand is doing something different about the fashion standard. You definitely see a shift in the fashion identity of the models. Fashion is becoming more realistic. But not only fashion but also the beauty industry is changing. In commercials they use normal people with wrinkles or a bigger, normal, size. I think there is a need from the consumers to recognise themselves in the models, and that won’t work if the models are a size 25, super tall, blond and with blue eyes. Furthermore I really hope this shift has future potential because I think it will maybe help to solve a lot of anorexia cases happening right now. The website sais #ownyourcurves. I think that is a special quote, because everybody should own his or hers body! Everybody is made as the most beautiful person in the world. And to me beauty is not from the outside but from the inside. I was searching for information and then I found something about our history. You can clearly see the shift of the models thy used. For example: in 1982 they used a really skinny model to show plus-size clothing nowadays the also take plus-size models. The shift in the fashion industry has always been there. For example in the 1949’s Marilyn Monroe was a famous model an she wasn’t as skinny as the models now are. She had curves and she owned it. But also the standard in different culures is different. Here in the west the skinny tall woman with blond hair and blue eyes is ‘fashion’. but for example in Thailand they prefer long necks, in Ethiopia scars are beauty and in Mauritia they prefer super-sized bods woman.
