Iona Inglesby, a female entrepreneur came up with the idea of Dot One. Dot one makes from your DNA a Unique scarf. You share 51% of your DNA with a banana, you share 59% of your DNA with a dog. In fact you share 99.9% of you DNA with me or every other human on earth. So what they do is discover your dot one percent. With a simple cheek swap your DNA is extracted and analysed. What they do is using DNA profiling so you can be identified from the other 8 billion people in this world. Dot one has created an algorithm witch turns your unique piece of DNA into colour. So now you have a scarf with your own 100% unique on DNA based print. And it also shows your relationship to others. For example two brothers share 78% of their unique DNA. And then there is these identical twins who share 100% of their ‘unique’ DNA.
Why? What Dot One has invented means your unique identity is visualised in a colour pattern on a scarf. It can open a conversation between people around art, technology an DNA profiling. The trend this coolhunt fits in would be shifting identities. People want to feel more unique in comparing to others. What Dot one does is just that dot one percent of you unique DNA visualized on a scarf. So there would be no other person on this earth with the same scarf as you have. This makes you and your identity a little more unique. I think this idea has future potential. Because people want to be more unique and the fact that this concept is also about art and technology makes it much more interesting and stronger for a bigger audience.
