Taart

What? Taart is the Dutch word for cake. I was shopping in Maastricht, in the south of the Netherlands. When I walked down the streets I saw this cute little restaurant kind of a thing. There were al cakes in the showcase and inside there were people sitting on old-fashioned furniture. I walked inside and it just felt like I was visiting my grandma. And I don’t mean that in a stupid way but it was really cute and it just looks like a living room. You can go there for so many different options. For example you can just sit there and drink a cup of coffee with a piece of cake. But you can also go there with a business trip or even a wedding. And if you don’t have much time you can also take coffee, thee or cake to-go.

Why? I was wondering why this is such a popular spot in town. I am looking for signals witch fit in the trend experience economy. Trend means that there are needs and values from consumers in our society. This trend says that people are looking for a living room outside their house. So to me I think that makes it why Taart is such a popular spot in town. Because it really conforms to the needs and values in our society. Next to that the staff in this restaurant is really cool, they interact with the guests and they are so nice to the people. That also makes it a really nice place to go. Furthermore the location is really nice. It`s in the centre of Maastricht. So if you want to escape the noise in town you just go to Taart and feel home.
